I haven't been logging my Foodies work for TAFE because I seem to be breathing Community Foodies lately. It has become all a bit over consuming of my time. Last week we finally launched the easy feast cookbook that has bee in production for the past year to much praise from the community. While I did a lot of the talking, food demonstrations were going on too. The smell of pizza and tuna patties was making the crowd hungry and the tastings were highly praised so we'll notch that one up to a success.
I had three days this week dedicated to Foodies which I have to travel to Enfield (in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide) and also for work which is on the same side of town so it made sense to stay with friends on that side of town but it meant that I have been out so much this week that I forgot what a drop and go mess I had left my place in, the overwhelming smell of overripe bananas will have me making cake this morning before I go out for Mothers Day lunch.
Yes again it is the second weekend in May which marks Mother's Day in Australia and in celebration my family will be going out to lunch at a pub in the Adelaide hills with hundreds of others but each table will be feeling the love in their own way, like their is nobody else in the room. The messages are flying on facebook spreading the love and apparently it is estimated that over a million texts will be sent today to tell Mums that they are loved. With 3 generations of Mums in our family the mothering chromosome hasn't missed me all together I have just made the decision not to have children I have lots of kids in my life and I want to say while the relationship with my mum isn't always happy, happy, joy, joy I love my mum but find it difficult to communicate the way I feel.
With all the foodies work done for a while, this week I am taking a step back to refocus on my studies and to focus on on the home schedule for a while.
